SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Time is running out for those hoping to vote in the November election.

WASHINGTON (WTOC) - The U.S. Army celebrates its founding 237 years ago on June 14. It was then that the Continental Army was formed.

This year's 237th Army Birthday theme is "America's Army:  The Strength Of The Nation.

During the American Revolution in 1775, the Continental Congress voted to adopt the Boston troops on June 14, although there is no written record of this decision, according to the U.S. Army website and the U.S. Army Center Of Military History. 

SUN CITY, SC (WTOC)- Newt Gingrich will be making some stops in the Lowcountry. The former House Speaker will be speaking at Magnolia Hall from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday. The Republicans of Sun City Hilton Head are sponsoring the event, which is for Sun City residents only.

Gingrich will then be heading to Beaufort for a town hall meeting beginning at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Henry Chambers Waterfront. He will be joined by retired Col. Michael Steele in an effort for the Independence Wellness Center for wounded veterans at Palm Key.
