BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC)- The acting superintendent of the Beaufort County School District announced her retirement on Wednesday.

Jackie Rosswurm, a 44 year education veteran, told board members, principals and staff that she will retire on July 1.

Rosswurm has been serving as acting superintendent since last fall.

Jeffrey Moss, a veteran North Carolina educator, will officially take over as the superintendent when Rosswurm retires.

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC) - The Kiwanis Club of Hilton Head Island will hold their 17th annual Rib Burnoff and Barbeque Fest for charity on May 18 at the Coastal Discovery Musuem, rain or shine.

HHI Airport plans to expand terminal

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC)- Hilton Head Island Airport is planning to expand its terminal to include more seating, security area and rest rooms.

The 4,250 sq. ft. addition will also host concessions and baggage claim depots.

The plans will be considered by the town of Hilton Head Island's Design Review Board Tuesday afternoon. If approved, the construction could begin in September.

The upgrades are expected to cost about $1.9 million. The county would only pay about $95,000 of total project cost with the Federal Aviation Administration picking up the rest.
