HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC)- Hilton Head Island Airport is planning to expand its terminal to include more seating, security area and rest rooms.
The 4,250 sq. ft. addition will also host concessions and baggage claim depots.
The plans will be considered by the town of Hilton Head Island's Design Review Board Tuesday afternoon. If approved, the construction could begin in September.
The upgrades are expected to cost about $1.9 million. The county would only pay about $95,000 of total project cost with the Federal Aviation Administration picking up the rest.
