BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC)- The polls opened at 7 a.m. Tuesday for Lowcountry voters to cast their decision in South Carolina's First District Congressional Race. 

According to the most recent polls, former South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford just may pull off his comeback.

A poll released on Monday by Public Policy shows Sanford has erased the nine point lead his democratic opponent Elizabeth Colbert Busch had just two weeks ago, and that he has now taken the lead by a point.

The polls will be open until 7 p.m.

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC)- The Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra ended its season on a high note Monday. The orchestra's final concert of the season featured Peter Rosset. Peter was born with down syndrome and diagnosed with Leukemia in 2011. He is a Make-A-Wish Foundation recipient. His wish was for a Steinway baby grand piano for his home, like the one he uses at school. He has been playing piano for three years.

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC)- The
Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating a series of break-ins that
occurred at two north end neighborhoods, one of which ended in shots being
fired at a homeowner.

Deputies
responded just before 6 a.m. Sunday to a home at Spanish Wells Plantation on
Widewater Road on several reports of shots fired.   

A
58-year-old man and his 62-year-old wife told deputies that an intruder had
fired gunshots at them.
