BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC)- Some big decisions are being made in lowcountry schools one week after one student brought a loaded gun and knives to Bluffton High School.
Parents and school leaders are talking about whether or not metal detectors would make a difference.
One school board members says installing metal detectors would be an over-reaction. Others say they want to give the topic more thought.
The middle and high schools in Beaufort County do have armed school resource officers on campus.
