Ribbon cutting held for newly renovated Westin HHI Resort and Spa

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC)- The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort and Spa has a new look. On Friday, the ribbon was cut with the help of Gov. Nikki Haley. The event marked the reopening of the $30 million renovated resort. Some of the highlights are a panoramic oceanfront restaurant and bar, and a two story vertical garden.

RBC Heritage to get special flyover

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC)- The RBC Heritage
is getting a special visit Friday. 

A Boeing 747-8
will make a low-altitude flyover during the second round of the RBC Heritage. 

The airplane will
approach from the northeast over the 18th hole and make two low-altitude passes
over the fairway around noon.

Security increased for 2013 RBC Heritage

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC)- Now that play has started at the RBC Heritage, just four days after the Boston Bombings, security is on many folks' minds.

Spectators and golfers attending the tournament say they have noticed an increase in security this year, and it's making it easy for them to enjoy themselves and watch golf in peace.

"I've seen more security than I normally see. It makes me feel very comfortable."
